History of district 104

Take a look at our past years through

2009

District 79 included the GCC countries with Jordan, and Lebanon. As the membership during that time was growing at an exponential, the District required to split into two districts, namely District 79 and District 20 for ease of administration. Saudi Arabia having one of the larger segments retained the District 79 tag and the others came to be called as District 20.

2009 - 2010

The application for “Reformation” as this process is called was done to TMI.

2010 - 2011

The process entails a “wait” period during which the separating district is said to be “under reformation”.

2011 - 2012

Saudi Arabia became an independent District and in the very first year of its existence achieved the No. 1 District status in the world under the able leadership of first District Governor of Saudi Arabia, DTM Khaled Matlagaitu.

2012

Marked the first ever District Conference held in Jeddah – DTAC‘12. DTM Abdullah Filimban as Conference Chair and DTM Khaled Matlagaitu as District Governor

2013

Second District Conference held in Dammam – SATAC’13.TM Waheed Lateef as Conference Chair and DTM Nazeer Al Qassem as District Governor

2014

Third District Conference held in Riyadh – SATAC’14. TM Saud Al Omair as Conference Chair and DTM Saif Ali Al Sheikh as District Governor

2015

District 79 Governor DTM Joey Villanueva started the process on the reformation of District 79. Initial approval from the Ex-com was taken. DTM Abdullah Al Sharif is the LGET and DTM Rashid Ali as the LGM.
The 4th District Conference was held in May with TM Mamdouh Khawaji and DTM Maria Teresa Villanueva as the Conference Chair. It is also in this year the TM Mohammed Qahtani won the World Champion in Public Speaking which was held in Las Vegas Nevada in August 2015. The present term 2014 – 2015 is directed under the leadership of District Governor DTM Joey I. Villanueva, The Lieutenant Governor Education and Training TM Abdullah A. Al-Sharif and Lieutenant Governor Marketing DTM Mohammed Rashid Ali form the triad at the helm of the Executive Committee for District 79.

2016

The 5th SATAC was held in Dammam with DTM Soliman Al Mahdi as the conference host, DTM Abdullah Al Sharif as the District Director and DTM Mohammed Rashid Ali as Program Quality Director (PQD). It was in this term where titles were changed from Governor to Director, LGET to PQD, LGM to CGD and others. Chairman on Reformation and Immediate Past District Governor DTM Joey Villanueva presented the final reformation and motion to approve and adopt was taken from the Excom and Council. In preparation for reformation, 2 PQDs and 2 CGDs were elected.

2017

The 6th SATAC was held in Riyadh with DTM Mohammed Al Hajeri as the Conference Chairman and DTM Soliman Al Mahdi as the District Director.

2018

Marks the 1st year of District 104 as a new reformed District comprising of Western, Southern and Northern Regions under the leadership of District Director DTM Mohammed Rashid Ali, PQD DTM Abdullah Filimban and CGD DTM Ali Al Shehri.
